STRUCTURE
Original canvas. Stretcher bar marks are visible. There are faint craquelure patterns across the surface and a small area of lifting paint and a spot of paint loss near the upper left corner. There are a few further small areas of old lifting paint in the sky, which now appear stable. The surface appears slightly dirty and may benefit from a light clean.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
Under UV light there appear to be a few faint signs of retouching to the above mentioned old areas of lifting paint. There appears to be some retouching to the stretcher bar mark on left edge and a few further isolated spots through the foreground.
FRAME
Contained in an ornate 19th century plaster frame (some losses).
