Valley in Winter:
The board is sound
There is a hairline surface crack in the upper left corner, approximately 10cm long. There are stains lower left and some general surface dirt and may benefit from a light clean; otherwise in good original condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals flourescence but this appears to be the hand of the artist.
Held in a plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
Landscape Cornfields near Newmarket:
The board is very slightly bowed.
The paint surface is dirty and there are a few minor frame abrasions, otherwise in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals a spot od old retouching off the border, upper left.
