Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been relined; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
UV light reveals an opaque varnish. There appear to be small areas of retouching to areas of the canvas, including the upper left corner, the table on the left, the dresses of both women and the jacket of the man above where the lady's hand is placed. Also some minor cosmetic retouching to the lady's nose and neck, the man's cravate and the cheeks and chest of the seated lady. A few further isolated spots of retouching in one or two places through the canvas.

Held in a gilt plaster frame.
