Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint suirface has traces of dirt and a discoloured varnish. There are also areas of craquelure and thin areas of paint. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered areas of retouching in the sky and some further to the water, lower left and lower centre. A varnish prevents more conclusive examination. Held in a plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
