Condition

Stalking: Sighting the Prey STRUCTURE The panel appears sound. There are faint signs of craquelure through the sky, only visible upon close inspection. Areas of old paint separation in the foreground and a small paint loss along the lower edge. Also a small surface abrasion above the head of the furthest left-hand figure; otherwise appears in good overall condition. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT Under UV light there appear to be a few old retouchings about the edges, some small spots through the foreground and two or three spots in the sky. The Journey Home STRUCTURE The panel appears sound. There are a few areas of craquelure across the surface, only visible upon close inspection; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT UV light reveals old signs of retouching to some of the areas of craquelure across the surface. There are two lines of retouching near the centre of the work, around the stag's head and a small area to the pony on the left. FRAMES Held in matching gilt plaster frames.
