3 volumes, 8vo (6 3/8 x 3 3/4 in.; 162 x 95 mm). Titles printed in red and black, 32 engraved plates including frontispiece in first volume and 5 maps; offset from some of the plates, one plate shaved at bottom touching image (2:109), one plate shaved at fore-edge (3:236), occasional light spotting. Contemporary mottled calf, spines gilt, gilt-stamped red morocco title labels; hinges broken, vol. 1 repaired with clear tape, upper cover of vol. 2 detached but present, that of vol. 3 on its way there.
