Printed document signed ("Th: Jefferson"), 1 page (14 5/8 x 9 1/4 in.; 372 x 234 mm), [Philadelphia,] 16 December 1791, being a congressional act, from the first session of the second congress, "for the relief of David Cook and Thomas Campbell," signed in type by President George Washington, Vice President John Adams, and Speaker of the House Jonathan Trumbull; tear in lower margin, neat repair to central fold separation, both far from the text block. Matted and framed with a portrait of Jefferson.

Catalogue Note

Pensions for Revolutionary War veterans. The present act placed on the pension list at one-third and one-half pay, respectively, "David Cook, a captain of artillery in the late war, and who, being shot through the body at the battle of Monmouth, is rendered incapable to obtain his livelihood by labor" and "Thomas Campbell, who has been so injured by repeated wounds in the service of his country, that he is unable to support himself by labor."
