Catalogue Note

This stunning neckalce, profusely set with a variety of gemstones on a rich and carefully-worked filigree gold ground produces a most sumptuous effect. A comparable necklace was sold in these rooms 16 October 1997, lot 55 (published in Hasson, p.60, no.77). A similar necklace is illustrated in Mann 2000, p.153, no.61.
