Arabic manuscript on paper, 118 leaves, 11 lines to the page, written in Naskh script in black ink, verses separated by small gold roundels, catchwords, opening illuminated double-page frontispiece comprising interlacing polychrome flowers against a gold ground with text within roundels, following folio with further illuminated headpiece, double page illustration of Mecca and Medina enclosed within illuminated borders, marginal glosses throughout written diagonally, red morocco with stamped medallions filled with scrolls and chinoiserie cloudbands
Condition
in generally good overall condition, spine repaired, paper repairs to opening folios, some small stains and thumbing throughout, calligraphy bright, as viewed.
