Arabic manuscript on paper, 287 leaves, 13 lines to the page, written in neat Naskh script in black ink, verses separated by segmented gold florets, textual divisions marked by illuminated marginal devices, catchwords, margins ruled in black and gold, surah headings written in white against gold-ground cartouches within panels decorated with polychrome flowers, opening double-page illuminated frontispiece composed of interlacing vines, split palmettes and chinoiserie cloud bands, fine contemporary binding with gilt-stamped borders and medallions filled with cloud bands and scrolling flowers
Condition
In generally good overall condition, a few smudges and stains, flap missing from binding, some abrasions to spine, ink bold and illumination bright, as viewed.
