Arabic manuscript on paper, 429 plus 4 flyleaves, 13 lines to the page written in naskh script in black ink, verses separated by gold roundels pointed in blue and orange, margins ruled in black and gold, catchwords, surah headings written in thuluth script in gold or red, opening illuminated double-page frontispiece comprising an interlacing weave of polychrome flowers against a gold ground with text within cloudbands, red morocco binding with gilt-stamped medallions filled with a rigorous interlace of scrolling tendrils and split palmettes with a border of scrolling vines, doublures with gilt-stamped medallions with chinoiserie cloud motifs, with flap
Condition
In good overall condition, ink bold and illumination bright, pages generally clean, a few repairs to the paper, some minor stains and smudges, very minor paper loss to the edge and centre of a few leaves, some wear to the binding and repair to the spine and flap, as viewed.
