- Leather bound manuscript
Arabic manuscript on paper, 100 leaves plus 4 flyleaves, 11 lines to the page, naskh script written in black ink, verses separated by assorted gold forms pointed in blue and orange, margins ruled in black and gold, catchwords, some heading panels written in white thuluth on pin-pricked gold with polychrome flower decoration, opening illuminated headpiece comprising gold interlacing flowers with punched motifs, double page illuminated illustration of Mecca and Medina in watercolours, further illuminated headpiece, colophon with ensuite decoration, red morocco binding with gilt medallions and key fret borders, in two pieces, requires spine repair, with flap
Condition
In good overall condition, ink bold and illumination bright, pages generally clean, a few minor smudges and stains, very minor repair to a few leaves, pages generally clean, repair to the binding and spine, as viewed.
