Volume I: 13 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink, verses separated by rotating assorted gold forms pointed in blue, orange and green, catchwords, intricate illuminated marginal devices punched in gold, surah headings written in white thuluth script with varying flower designs and punched cintamani motifs against a gold ground, margins ruled in red, black and gold, illuminated opening double-page frontispiece with text in cloud bands against a gold ground, polychrome rosettes in zig-zag form enclosed within borders in braided and key fret motifs, large rococo floral garlands in gold and colours, red leather binding with tooled medallions; Volume II: 11 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink, verses separated by segmented gold florets pointed in blue and orange, catchwords, intricate illuminated marginal devices composed of polychrome floral and stellar motifs emanating blue floral sprays, surah headings written in white against gold-ground cartouches, within rectangular panels filled with intricate polychrome foliage on gold and blue grounds with rigorous geometric patterned borders, margins ruled in blue, black and gold, colophon with illuminated heading, red leather binding with tooled medallions
