modelled by Peter Reinicke, standing before a tree stump, wearing a light brown gilt-edged hat, yellow-lined puce cape, white jacket turquoise trousers and red shoes with yellow rosettes, the base applied with flowers and leaves (minor chips)

Condition

Chip to thumb and tips of fingers on left hand. Chips to both yellow rosettes on shoes.Shallow chip to underside of base, approx.0.5cm. by 0.3cm.

The model is based on Joullain's engraving, Habit de Tartaglia, published in Luigi Riccoboni's Histoire du théâtre italien, published in Paris in 1728.The figure is recorded in Reinicke's work records for September 1744, `1 dergl., Tartaglio, in Thon boushirt' ( 1 ditto, Tartaglio, modelled in clay).
