Description

la panse de forme balustre aplatie polylobée, reposant sur un haut pied légèrement évasé, à décor de paysages et inscriptions, l'anse mouvementée surmontée d'un dragon chilong, le bec verseur relié à la panse par un dragon archaïsant ajouré jaillissant d'un masque d'animal fabuleux, le col souligné d'une frise de grecques se répétant sur le couvercle polylobé agrémenté de dragons et surmonté d'une prise formée d'un dragon chilong enroulé sur lui-même, socle en bois sculpté (3)

Provenance

Acquired in the mid-19th century, thence in the family by descent.

Condition

Good overall condition with the exception of a 6mm flake to the footrim and some nicks to the dragon finial and to the tip-end of the spout. The actual color has a slightly more yellowish tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
