Condition

This work is in very good original condition. The canvas is not lined but has been tightened. A close inspection reveals two artist's pinholes in the upper right corner and a curved superficial scratch in the centre of the upper half of the composition which is possibly inherent to the artistic process. There is no evidence of retouching visible under UV light. The background yellow pigment is much lighter and brighter than it appears in the catalogue illustration.
