Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration. The work is executed on a plywood panel, originally reinforced by a stretcher on the back where the electrical system is fixed. The electrical system works well. The extremity of the lower left corner is slightly worn. A few superficial irregularities to the black background painting are all due to the artist's process. Located on the moving metallic painted white elements, are only visible under very close inspection: - a few hairline cracks - 2 pinhead sized losses of paint This work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Eclosion I se range parmi les tableaux en mouvement que l'artiste initie en 1954 avec celles de la série Meta-Malevitch.

La série Œuf d'Onocrotale frappe en ce sens que les éléments blancs en mouvement peuvent s'assembler dans une forme ovale. Il s'agit là toutefois d'une supposition théorique, puisque la probabilité pour que les éléments tournant à des vitesses différentes donnent cette forme est infime.
