Condition

The overall blue tonality is deeper in the original than in the catalogue's illustration. This one does not convey the richness of all the creases due to the artist's process. The canvas is irregularly cut and stappled to the mount at all edges. There is some slight wear visible at the extreme corners. Under UV light there is no evidence of any retouching. This work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Simon Hantaï dans son atelier, 1968 © Edouard Boubat

« Plate maintenant.
