Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is lighter in the original. The work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined. Under UV light, there is no evidence of any retouching. This work is in excellent condition.

« Sous l'abstraction apparente de ces enchevêtrements d'arabesques au trait noir et insistant s'articulent les rythmes d'une poésie d'inspiration naturelle quoique primitive. Ces arborescences et proliférations ocre ou rougeâtres, piquantes comme des cactus ou labyrinthiques comme des réseaux de lianes, deviennent autant de symbolisations graphiques.
