his hands crossed on his chest and wearing the nemes-headcloth with uraeus and queue, the painted detail missing.

Provenance

acquired by the present owner in the late 1950s/early 1960s from a nephew or grandnephew of Theodore Davis

Condition

As shown and described; several small modern nicks and abrasions, large chip on upper back of nemes, head of uraeus missing. The workmanship is very schematic and the details were probably painted, but it is also possible that the ushabti is unfinished.
