  • An Etruscan Bronze Figure of a Silen
  • Bronze
  • Height 2 13/16 in. 7.2 cm.
perhaps from the shoulder of a rod-tripod, running to left and wearing a short tunic tied at the waist and animal skin over his shoulder, his long pointed beard finely striated, the flat back with tenon for attachment.

Condition

Very good; slight surface wear and the tip of the stamen is chipped or worn; the upper half of the flat back seems to have been made separately and attached. It and the tenon have some flaws and chips.
