comprising a separately carved right hand wearing a ring and holding a fragmentary scroll, and the front of a left foot resting on a sole.

Swiss private collection, Zurich, acquired prior to 1980
by descent to the previous owner

Condition

Hand: Both ends of scroll, entire thumb, and ends of all other fingers missing, second knuckle on index finger chipped. Hand was carved separately from arm of statue and has a deep square mortise inside wrist. None of finished surface around mortise on wrist-end of hand is preserved. Foot: Surface weathered and abraded overall, tips of most toes chipped, as well as sole on which foot rest.
