Description

  • An Apulian Red-figured Bell Krater
  • Terracotta
  • Height 13 3/4 in. 34.9 cm.
decorated with a young satyr with raised foot holding a torch and situla, and a seated woman with wreath and tambourine, the details in added white and yellow.

Condition

Intact and generally good. Areas of encrustation remain (such as those visible on the foot in the catalogue photo). The painting on side B is somewhat worn, especially the wreath under the rim. The painting on side A is in good shape, except for some of the added color details.
