Condition
The canvas has been relined. The colours are slightly cooler and less red than in the catalogue illustration. Under UV light there are a couple of minor areas of retouching, one in the upper left and one in the lower right, in the black of the seated veiled figure. There is hairline craquelure, some visible in the catalogue illustration (eg in the legs of the man with the red slippers) but most is visible only under close inspection. The general appearance of this work is good.
Held in a decorative gold-painted wood and plaster Salon style frame.
