Condition

With narrow to small margins, a short diagonal tear (circa 2.5cm) at lower left edge, a few repaired tears in the margins, a central vertical and horizontal fold along lower part of sheet, occasional pale brown stains along edges and upper corners, otherwise in good condition, framed, as viewed.

This image is clearly Suleyman in his later years and is close to Lorck's portrait of Suleyman before the Suleymaniye Mosque of 1579 (Rogers and Ward 1988, p.48, no.2).
