Condition
The sheet is in generally good condition, trimmed to the platemark and the colors are slightly attenuated. The sheet edges with a few tiny nicks due to uneven trimming, and four short tears, two of which have been repaired, on the lower right and left sheet edges. Some pale surface soiling and light-stain with tiny, infrequent fox marks scattered throughout the unprinted areas, a small, green mark at the tip of the beak, which may be stray ink, and two small smudges in the upper part of the beak and on the tip of one leaf next to the head of the bird. Soft handling creases throughout, with the bottom right and left corner edges slightly rounded under. The verso with minor surface soiling, very pale mat stain, remnants of adhesive in the lower left and previous hinges on all four edges, and a few skinned areas on the left side of the sheet, which are visible only upon close inspection and do not show on the recto.
