The desk appears to retain its original brass hardware. Together with a later Federal Mahogany Bookcase, New England, circa 1800. 2 pieces.
Condition
Secondary wood is white pine; re-finished; drawer runners replaced; drop has been re-glued; there is a three-inch patch to top board at location with lock; some minor loss to tips of brass hardware; rear diagonal corner braces for feet replaced; proper left front foot re-secured with apparent wooden dowel through base molding.
The bookcase secondary wood is white pine; lacking three finials; re-finished; inlaid rosettes may be restored.
