Condition

Pile generally near original very closely sheared 1/10 inch with scattered areas low to knotheads---not serious. Replaced fireplace area at one end of carpet with attendant 1/2 inch x 20 inch reweave---well executed so barely visible on face, more visible on reverse. Scattered moth damage on reverse, with some glue also on reverse; repiling to moth damage on ends. Selvages intact. Ends with small losses to outer ivory surround. Fine, dense weave; sound fabric and condition.
