rounded rectangular, the sides chased with sloping gadroons, the upper rim and base rim with wavy scrolls, loop handles decorated with aquatic foliage and terminating in scrolls, engraved on one side CEH, the low domed covers with conforming decoration and knop finials

Provenance

The monogram CHS is that of Charlotte Hill Slade, daughter to Railroad baron JJ Hill and grandmother to the consignor.
