Appears to retain its original finials and fret. Dial inscribed Samuel Stiles / Windsor. Mother of pearl inlay on top of bonnet door is a 19th century addition.

The clock was passed down through the female line of the family.

Original weights were reputedly used for bullets in War of 1812.

Condition

Bottom board has been broken out; front feet lacking vertical glue blocks; front feet later reinforced with screws into base molding; numerous holes in backboard where it was mounted to various walls; a later metal brace has been soldered to the back of the silver dial; appears to have its original pendulum, however the pendulum rod has broken; replaced cast iron weights; with clock winder and case door key; secondary wood is white pine; appears to retain its original fretwork; proper left side plinth with the back of the wafer restored; Mother of pearl inlay on top of bonnet door is a 19th century addition.
