Description
- George Nakashima
- "Slab" Coffee Table
- American black walnut and East Indian rosewood
Provenance
Acquired directly from the artist by the present owner
Condition
Overall in very good original condition. This table is an early work by Nakashima, and the top comprises two boards joined with four rosewood keys. One key to the central portion of the table boldly extends beyond the free-edge of the table, a very rare detail. This table has been sensitively maintained and waxed and the present condition reflects that care. A wonderful early design made even more rare by the unusual key detail.
