Description

  • Paul Evans
  • Unique Two-Door "Sculpture Front" Hanging Cabinet
  • welded and patinated steel

Provenance

Acquired from the artist by the present owner

Condition

Overall very good original condition. This piece was designed for the present owner, and is an extremely rare and possibly unique design. This cabinet because of the heavily- sculptured doors, does not have a true functional top surface, and is was not designed with a slate top. Therefore the piece has been catalogued as a cabinet rather than a sideboard. With two sculptural doors, which open to reveal a single adjustable shelf to each one the interior compartments. Retains original shelf hardware. The sculptural doors with some minor scattered surface dirt to the recessed areas, and some very light rubbing. The piece has been very sensitively cared for since it was acquired and the rich hues of the coloration have been retained throughout. With some minor surface scratches to the exterior of the case and to the interior. Please note this piece has significant weight. The doors are on a fixed peg system and can be removed for transport and installation of the piece. There is a steel panel in the back of the case with holes for installation.
