Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 12 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The Turtleback Tile band in the shade is in very good condition, with no visible cracks. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base with some occasional surface scratches, abrasions and gentle rubbing to the patina consistent with age and use. The Turtleback Tiles set into the base are in very good condition, with only one tiny surface fleck to the top border of one tile (1/8 inch). The green pigment over the leading on the tile band of the base with small scattered losses. The domed top surface of the oil canister with a shallow surface bruise to the outer perimeter (1 inch wide). The underside of the base appears to be over-painted. With replaced riser, socket cluster, wheel and finial. There is a loose element (perhaps a screw) caught inside the lower urn-form base unit which rattles when the base is vigorously moved. An attractive example of the model, displaying the ideal shade and base pairing, and strong luminous color to the iridescence on the Turtleback tiles embellishing the shade and base.
