Condition
Overall in good restored condition. The fish to the left in the catalogue photograph with a professional restored lower portion of the backfin. On close examination, the hairline crack is visible. The repair was undertaken sensitively, and appears stable. The center fish in the catalogue illustration showing under blacklight possibly restorations to the tail, and adjacent upper and lower fins. The fish to the right of the catalogue illustration when examined under blacklight also shows a possible minor restoration to the tail and dorsal fin. The bases are possibly later, but are each suited to the fish and display them well. The center fish with holes in the body (two in the region of the tail, and one to lower portion of the gill region) which are not utilized in present base mounting, and are likely inherent in the making. Each of the fish with intricate glaze work, which gives each of the fish a sense of realism.
