Condition

Overall in excellent original condition. The silver-painted body of the skater with some light surface scratches and a few minor areas of discoloration. With some minor rubbing at the back of the proper right skate and lower leg. The ivory carved face and hands are in excellent condition with a beautiful subtlety in the carving. The proper right hand of the figure is slithly loos the touch but presently stable but there is a slight gap between the cuff of the costume and hand. A small portion of the ivory hand that should be hidden by the cuff of the costume is exposed. This is minor and on;ly visible on close inspection. Base is in good condition with a few scattered shallow scratches and a a minor to one of the top corners of the black onyx portion of the base. This is an elegant and graceful figure and the detailing of the carving and subtleties of the painting give the impression of gentle motion. Due to the fragile nature of this sculpture, special handling and/or packing may be required during the shipping process.
