Condition

Overall in good condition. The wooden frame of this piece with shallow surface scratches, dings and some rubbing to the finish. The panels are executed in parchment, and as seen in the catalogue illustration present with light discolorations throughout, and some with isolated darkening at the corners. Some of the edge of the panels are lifting slightly, and would benefit from stabilization. Some of the lifting parchment with creasing and minor edge losses. With scattered discolorations to the panels at the top of the cabinet as seen in the catalogue illustration. One of the stains is circular in shape measures 2 inches in diameter, and with a smaller second discoloration measuring 2 x 1 inches. There is one additional much smaller discoloration to the same area. With three areas of restoration (two located on the top of the case, and one on the center portion of the front) to the corners of the parchment inserts. The restored areas are to the immediate edge of the panels are less than one inch in length, and some appear to have affixed losses, and some with infill. There are two wooden shelves to the interior, and the cabinet is presently lacking key, but is not locked. The shelves with scratches, rubbing to finish at the edges, edge chips and dings. The interior of the case presents with minor surface scratches. The reverse is executed with wooden panels, and the piece is intended for use against the wall. With a few areas adhesive label residue. A very elegant design which remains in very good condition considering the age and the materials used. The parchment has acquired a beautiful patina over time.
