STRUCTURE Original canvas. The canvas is undulated slightly across the surface. In the sky in the upper right quadrant, near the right edge, there is a small abrasion measuring approximately 2cm. in length. Otherwise the work is in generally good condition, with a strong areas of impasto. ULTRAVIOLET Ultraviolet light reveals an uneven varnish, which makes the reading difficult to interpret, and pigments which fluoresce, but these appear to be the hand of the artist FRAME Held in a gilt and painted plaster frame
