STRUCTURE
Original canvas. It undulates slightly.
There is a small hole in the upper right corner and an artist's pinhole by the lower right corner. There are a few small areas of craquelure across the canvas, notably near the upper right corner and about the lying down girl's foot. Otherwise the work appears in good overall condition with some strong areas of impasto.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
Under UV light there is a small area of retouching in the sea upper right. Other are areas across the canvas which fluoresce but these appear to be the result of the pigment used and the work of the artist.
FRAME
Held in an ornate gilt plaster frame.
