Condition

The Calm of Autumn, Argyll Original canvas. There is some minor frame abrasion along the lower edge and a few specks of staining in the sky. Otherwise the work is in good overall condition with areas of strong impasto. Ultraviolet light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a painted plaster frame. On the Banks of the Loch Original canvas. There is a small, very minor, protrusion along the centre of the lower edge. There is a tear measuring approximately an inch and a half in length in the sea on the right. There are artist's pinholes in the corners and along the lower edge. There is an area of craquelure in the sky. Ultraviolet light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a gilt and painted plaster frame.
