Condition

STRUCTURE Original canvas. There is a small patch to the centre of the reverse of the composition measuring approximately 1 by 2cm. The surface is slightly dirty but is in otherwise apparently good overall condition. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT UV reveals flecks of retouching along the edges. There is an area of retouching around the woman's black hat and an area to the trees behind the man and horse. There are flecks to the saddle, the man's hat and around the woman on the left. There may be one or two other scattered flecked retouchings to the foreground and trees. FRAME Held in a gilt plaster frame.
