First French edition, 2 parts in one volume, oblong 8vo (115 x 170mm.), 169 miniature maps engraved by Pieter van den Keere, Jodocus Hondius, Benjamin Wright and others, [Koeman II, Lan 3], contemporary vellum, lacking engraved title, plate of the ship Victoria, and preliminaries, first world map soiled and frayed with 2 holes (just affecting the engraved surface), map 28 (Burgundia Ducatus) cut out and overprinted on same map but printed upside down, some occasional slight browning and softening of edges, binding somewhat worn
