Catalogue Note

First edition of the author's account of his voyage from Rome to India, by way of the Cape of Good Hope, from 1701 to 1703, together with details of the natural history and peoples he found en route. Borghesi was part of a mission to China, and spent several months in Pondicherry in 1704 where he wrote this letter in Latin. The mission reached China in 1705 and Borghesi died there in 1714.
