Catalogue Note

A good copy, belonging to a relative of Thomas Ledward, acting surgeon of the Bounty.

The list of those on the Bounty's launch and those left behind on the ship itself (pp.6-7) carries annotations by the former owner of this copy, Thomas Denman, explaining the crew's respective fates. A later pencil note on p.6 states that Denman was uncle of Thomas Ledward, acting surgeon, and one of the launch party who died on the return journey.
