- A Superb "Poinsettia" Table Lamp
- shade impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1558
base impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/394 leaded glass and patinated bronze
Provenance
Louis and Lilly Calderon, Wantash, NY, acquired circa 1970
Acquired from the above by the present owner
Condition
Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 12-14 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base with some occasional light surface scratches and abrasions, surface soiling, and rubbing to the patina consistent with age and gentle use, and with a few small traces of white paint drips and marks. The base is slightly dull, and would benefit from being sensitively waxed to revitalize the surfaces. The sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed, and with a period finial. An exceptional example of the model displaying a deeply saturated jewel-tone color palette to the floral register, and superb color gradation to the geometric background register. The lamp displays beautifully in person and is very striking.
