Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 30 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. A few of the cracks appear to have been possibly stabilized with glue in the past. The rare mosaic “Dragonfly” base is in extraordinary condition. All of the favrile glass mosaic tiles appear to be intact and undisturbed, with no visible losses or restoration. There are a few very small and minor surface flecks to the mosaic glass. One small area on the stem of the base with some possible grouting losses. The patinated bronze elements on the base show very minimal gentle rubbing, and display an exceptionally rich russet brown patina. The base plate on the underside of the lamp appears to have been overpainted in the past. One additional screw was added to the center of the base plate, and the perimeter screw heads appear to have been filed down, most likely at a time when the lamp was rewired. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed, and with a period “spider” finial. With some light rubbing to the high points of the patina on the finial, and with what appears to be a few occasional old touch ups with green paint to the finial (the latter could be easily removed if desired). A superb example of this iconic model, displaying the ideal shade and base pairing. The lamp displays harmonious proportions, and a highly artistic glass selection with superb color gradation.
