Catalogue Note
Capote's pioneering non-fiction novel, inscribed by the author to Jim and Minnie Fosburgh. The Fosburghs were close friends of Capote's and had been instrumental in introducing him into New York society. However, the friendship was strained by the publication of the scathing social satire "La Côte Basque, 1965" in Esquire in 1975.
