16mo (152 x 110mm.), first edition, first issue, wood-engraved head- and tailpieces throughout, one full-page map of the fortifications of Paris, facsimile letter by Clemens (as Mark Twain to Dan Slote regarding his patented scrapbook), one-page advertisement for the various scrapbooks, original decorative green cloth, upper cover blocked in black, spine lettered in gilt, cream end papers small illustration on end pastedown, cloth slightly wrinkled on lower cover, few tiny spots of rubbing to joints, but a bright copy.
