Autograph document unsigned but mentioning himself in the third person three times, 2 pages (12 7/8 x 7 3/4 ; 334 x 203 mm) being a statement of accounts for the cost of keeping his race horses in the autumn of 1812; endorsed on verso of second page " amount of expense of keeping horses in fall 1812 and cash recd on the 3 days running for settlement; some creasing, remnants of previous mounting at two corners. Periwinkle blue cloth folding case, teal blue morocco spine, blue spine labels.

Catalogue Note

The cost of keeping horses. With scrupulous detail, Jackson records  the cost of upkeep for six horses, including transport, fodder, training, medicine, and shewing & plating." He notes the account "is made out without any charge for Mr. Hutching's superintending the horses calculating his attention to clear him from any part of the expence of keeping & that it should be divided amongst A. Jackson, J. Jackson & Col. Ward."

Accompanied by a clipped signature of 31 March 1835.
