A collection of 13 publications by Joseph Galloway (1731-1803), American Loyalist, delegate to the Continental Congress, author of a compromise plan for union with Great Britain. Various sizes of octavo, generally very good condition although many lack half-titles, various bindings, mostly recent boards or half-leather. Comprising:



A Candid Examination of the Mutual Claims of Great-Britain, and the Colonies: with a Plan of Accomodation on Constitutional Principles. New York: James Rivington, 1775, errata on title verso; lightly browned. First edition, first issue. Evans 14059 — With second issue (no errata on title verso); first two leaves lightly soiled — and with London: republished by G. Wilkie & R. Faulder, 1780; offset from silk placeholder on two pages now gone. Adams, American Controversy, 75-51b —  The Speech of Joseph Galloway, Esq; ...
