Description

plat d'entrée à groseilles, later decorated with a broad yellow ground border reserved with cartouches of fruits and flowers, the large central group including chestnuts, peaches and grapes

Purchased Christies, 29th March 1944, P. Morgan Collection sale, for £35.14s.

Condition

There is typical wear to the yellow ground along the moulded lines which mark the lobes of the shape. There is a bruise to the rim on the top right side which is probably a firing flaw. There is a minute loss to the gilded line on the inner rim at the point of one of the lobe angles to the centre right.
